It's been an interesting start to the new year, friends. At least for me, anyway. It started with the worst kind of news, but all of the sudden, things are starting to get...perky (okay not in all the places I'd like, but still). And I wish the best for all of you lovely bliends (blog + friends). May you all exceed your expectations and resolutions and have all your wishes granted.
My advice? Set the bar really, really low. Don't expect too much. Be prepared to fail. Be prepared to suck. Then you'll surely surprise yourself when you don't suck SO much. That's right, I'm encouraging you to aim low. Really, really low. BE PROUD of yourself for getting out of bed today (unless you haven't yet...in which case...um...moving on).
Now, Candyland is still getting back into the groove so I want you to wash your hands thoroughly, dry them, apply a paraffin treatment with those plastic glove thingys, rinse and sanitize. I'll be waiting....
Random Fact: While it's true I've started a new weight loss journey, yesterday was the last day to use up extra points. I may or may not have gone to the store ONLY to buy four Cadbury Eggs. Worth. Every. Point.
Random Fact: And because of my new constant state of hunger, I may or may not have licked my plate to get every single crumb. Mmm...(still hungry)...
WOWZA! That was supadupa. I'm feeling that little spark, yaaknow, back in Candyland. Thank you all for hanging in there with me through the rough times. And as of this morning, I've officially lost 5.5 pounds. Yahoo!(FEEEEEED MEEEE).
Until Monday, have you ever gone to the store only to buy junk? Have you ever licked your plate clean? In front of people? (I've not yet reached this level of hunger, but I'll get there).
Candyland. OUT.

Congrats on the weight loss. Rats on the hunger pains. I would die...
I heart you so much! You're like me far away bestie! Even though the beginning of the year was tough we'll set the bar low so it turns out awesome :)
Happy Friday Candyland :)
I think today's a good day to lower my bar. (need to chat)
Congrats on the weight loss.
Candy, you and me baby. I'm starving and have to drag my butteth onto the elliptical every dang morning for a solid hour of MISERY. Plus, it doesn't help that Robyn's stomach is growling 24 hours a day. Here's to lickin' that plate shiny and clean. (But only in secret.) x
Is there a window licker's anonymous?
Congratulations on losing the weight. I should try to do that some day. I don't give a damn what I look like, but they say it can have a pretty big effect on your cardiovascular health. Pshaw, as if they know, they're only PRACTICING medicine, after all.
Today's guest blogger is K.M. Walton!
hi miss candace! i gotta say the truth is i sometime could ask someone to take me at the store to get some peanutbutter cups. my mom used to say theres no such word as fail as long as you tried and did your best. wow youre doing sooo good on that diet. you could use a bigger plate so there more stuff to lick off. ha ha.
...hugs from lenny
You managed to lose 5.5 pounds despite eating Cadbury eggs? You're my hero.
Sadly, I'm more inclined to make a trip to the store to buy junk food then I am to take the time to fill my closets with the good/healthy stuff.
Great job losing 5.5 lbs. Doesn't it feel fantastic. And there's nothing better to spend your extra points on than a great seasonal treat like Cadbury eggs. But wait, do they already have the Easter candy out?
Are you doing WW? That's how I lost my weight and it was the only program that ever worked for me! (Obviously being the large pregnant woman I'm not doing it now...) BUT...I went from hardly being able to button my size 16 pants down to a size 4 in a year. It was amazing and I discovered the joy of 1 pt ice cream bars...they are worth every single penny!
Mmmm. Cadbury. Evil...and delicious at the same time. What's not to love? Here's to setting my sights lower. Because I don't want to suck so much. Have a good w/end. Chin up. Shoulders back. Now shake that...
Sending virtual chocolate your way. Trust me it has no calories. And no taste, but like BR8o you can look at it and drool.
Congrats on shedding the 5 pounds! I started my "weight-loss" thing, too and I. Am. Starving. Forget about the crumbs, in a few days, I might eat the whole darn plate! I just hope it's paper and not glass or plastic. :o)

*takes a moment to fantasize about Cadbury Eggs*
Um, yes. I have gone on junk runs before. Because sometimes you just have to.
I haven't seen Cadbury eggs in my store yet! And I so look forward to them.
Good job on sticking to your pointage. I started a calorie counting thing on sparkpeople.com then stopped because it was too much trouble. But I am exercising regularly, I just have to stop the goodies!
I'm glad things are looking up and have a great weekend!
LOL You've figure out my querying philosophy. ;)
Congrats on the weight loss. I think I took it from. You know, if you want it back . . . .
You're doing so much better than me! The number of the flippin' scale moved up instead of down this morning. Damn scales. I'm getting back on board today, though. And no, I haven't licked my plate in public...yet.
Glad to hear some spark in your voice, sistah. Happy weekend!
5.5? Sweet! I've started that one that is guaranteeing to loose weight...I've gained two pounds. =( Oh well.
hang in there and yay on the 5 pounds loss. I too will be losing some xtra pounds this year what plan or diet are you on?
Awesome on the 5.5! Go you!
Even awesome-r on the Cadbury Eggs and plate-licking scheme. (I think I'll have to try that.)
Setting a lower bar helps you achieve your goals I feel. It also makes you feel 10 x infinite better when you surpass that goal.
And I don't know what you're talking about. *shifty eyes* I've never gone to the store purely for that purpose, he he... he.....
Go, Candace, go! You use those extra points for fun, tasty treats.
I think I'm still lost somewhere around Christmas. It's like I just woke up to find a homeless man wearing my shoes and a family of squirrels using my car as a Marriott hotel.
Yes to both questions! LOL! Thank you for giving me permission to be happy about just getting out of bed today. I needed that! It's a great way to start the day!
There are other reasons to go to the store?
I thought about trying to lose weight this year... then I went and made myself a root beer float. They are my weakness... and the reason I don't fit in my favorite pair of jeans anymore.
Congrats on losing 5.5 pounds!
I really need to get serious with my weight loss. *hangs head in shame*
Oh, there is no doubt that a Cadbury egg is worth every point. Congrats on the 5.5!! :-)
Lower the bar. Yup. That is some of the best advice I ever heard. Yup.
So glad you're getting your Candyland sparkle back! Little is a little more than before!
The only thing I'll allow my tongue to lick....is skin!! :)
Congratulations on the five pounds!
I got out of bed today....YAY! Didn't get dressed though...Hey I didn't want anyone to think I was going to cook or clean for them today! (Trying to keep their expectations low.)
I have been doing great on my low carb plan...I did eat a little chocolate today, but shared it with my kiddo...so I didn't get all of the calories. :)
Have a happy weekend!!!!
I'm not a big junk food fan, but I'll happily go to the store only to buy ingredients to bake a batch of cookies!
Congrats on your progress! That's awesome.
Yes, I have absolutely gone to the store with the express purpose of buying junk.
