Oh, so tempting...but, K, I won't. ;)
OMGOMGOMG!!! I CANNOT STAND TEXTS LIKE THIS! Or spoken messages for that matter. I have a friend (whom I've known since we were both kids before they even invented cell phones and texting didn't exist) and he used to leave messages on my machine that said 'No message' He didn't even leave his name, and I knew it was him because I recognized his voice! I was like that's such a waste of energy!!!
My sister does this and it SO makes me wanna drop kick her!!!
*kicks her*
Phew! This is like therapy. Thanks.
WHATEVER....
I have an old cell phone that I have to page through each number to write a stinkin letter so I am prone to short answers from my cell (or go to my computer and email an answer :). K?
Nothing bothers me. I'm untouchable.
Hahahaha! I totally do this! I will try in the future to NOT do it!
Even though I do this, I don't like it when people shorten words in texts. And I don't like when they don't use punctuation and don't capitolize. Drives me nuts!

Mine is all the text-speak. Maybe it's because I don't ever text but seeing it drives me bonkers.
kewl! aweso! ur2ys4me. srsyl... ura*! cyal8r. k?
...hgs frm y#1fan ll
lol
When my high school composition students use texting abbreviations in their essays! Argh! :-)
That used to irritate the crap out of me when I didn't have a texting plan. Cost me twenty cents to read that single letter text!!!! I do have a texting plan now, so it irritates me less, and me and hubs have made it into a joke now. But yeah, I feel your pain! I make it a point to at least type "okay". LOL!
Ugh, I know what you mean!
my wife used to mix up the words color and collar. Drove me nuts, especially after the got her doctorate.
Sending LONG texts. Just call me! AARGH!
OMG! And I've seen it spelled out - Oh.Em.Gee. Just scream in my ear; it'll be less painful.
I can proudly say I have never done this! I'm not a big fan of LOL.
Texting in general! Shortening words like that drive me nuts. I have never LOL or BRB in my life.
'But' at the end of a sentence! :-/
Guilty. I use the K because I suck at texting.
My pet peeve is the "Imma gonna let you" made famous by a certain rude rapper hopping on stage during someone else's acceptance speech.
My son it once.
ONCE.
Haha that's great. I can't stand the K unless we're talking about Kramer. JK, I have no patience for lazy texting.
My pet peeve is any text that deliberately avoids answering/acknowledging your previous text. For instance, if I text one of my friends asking what their plans are for Saturday, and they come back with "You won't believe who I ran into today," I'm pissed. Inexcusable.
Great blog!
I can relate. I write out my words. I will only use LOL. And now that I know it bugs certain people I won't use it anymore.
I always try to be considerate. That's the least we can do for one another.
I feel a compulsion to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammer in my texts. Thus, it takes forever for me to type one out and I will usually just answer a text with a phone call. Of course, that irritates some people too...
Love reading your posts and COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!! My peeves, the over use of LOL as if it were an excuse or an "out" for any real feelings you might interpret in a text or email. Example: "I don't know how to tell you this, lol, but I will just say I'm upset with you, lol." Umm, really? Is it really funny that you're upset with me?
Also, the use of FML. REALLY? Someone is that upset about a lost shoe in a closet to just say FML? It's a freakin' shoe. Get over it!
I totally understand. My brother uses K whenever he replies to my texts, my sister uses KK which is a bit better I guess.
Textspeak itself is my pet peeve. My friends and family know that if they want me to respond to a text, they have to make use of proper grammar and punctuation. Otherwise, I just ignore it.
I'm one of those people who stubbornly type the word "okay" even in texts. I can tolerate "ok" because at least it makes sense.
I've never had anyone type or text "k" at me, but at least I can see why they might.
My pet peeve is: kk
What the heck is that? My daughters even SAY it: "kk, mom."
My husband has started to use it now. He chats me and answers my questions or comments with "kk."
It's even worse than "my bad" which I HATE, because "bad" is not a noun!!!!!!
Oh, without a doubt it's the non-use of capital letters and punctuation in texts. I can handle abbreviations such as ROTFL or OMG, or even OK, but please, people, use some proper grammar. Love your blot, btw! I'm a follower.
I've given you an award! You can stop by my blog to pick it up! :D
Random Thoughts By Danni
LOL... I have to admit that I do use K a lot. I rather text than talk cause I used to work on the phone and I do usually spell right & use correct punctuation but there are short that I do find I use also:-)
Stop in and give K is for Karma a read:-)
hahaha so funny. I don't think I could match a similar peev.
K
Just chillin' does it to me everytime. If I really want to annoy my kids I say "chillax." This was fun! Thanks, Julie
My peeve is getting a text with 3 or more questions which can't always be answered with a simple "yes, yes, no." The result is my obligation to write back at length so as not to seem rude at using 3 words to answer their "thoughtful" prose.
In general, monosyllabic answers leave me pretty perturbed. Maybe it's the writer in me, or maybe I read too much into things assume the person is apathetic. Either way, it drives me bonkers.
Great post and responses!
Happy M Day (on the K)!
