Never get between a girl and her medicine

Dear suckysucksters LC Pavillion in Columbus, OH,

Thanks for ruining my Tuesday that was supposed to be filled with all things rock. You never got your shizz together after changing venues at the "last" minute (like two weeks before), and because of your stupid floor wristband giveaway the the first 2,000 people in line, you screwed us out of seeing the only band we came for.

In the sun and heat, we stood for two hours, only to vaguely hear New Medicine play from beyond the wall in the massive line that wrapped around two city blocks. These other concert-goers missed falling in love the way I did, New Meds missed gaining about 1200-1500 new fans because we weren't able to get inside fast enough, and Candyland missed her mandatory dose of JakeBR80DanRyan doin' what they do best, on stage.

We did make it in, eventually, no thanks to you, LCP. By the time we arrived to the front gate, security had all but given up, stopped checking tickets and bags for bombs and brass knuckles, and let everyone run through like a herd of panicked cattle. Lucky for you, LCP, it wasn't a complete waste because I got plenty of *love* from my boys, even though I wasn't able to get to them fast enough to show mine. Also, no thanks to you, LCP, I got an autographed CD with matching sticker and poster for one lucky Candyland commenter on yesterday's post. (If you missed it, CLICK HERE and leave a comment. You have until tomorrow noon to enter.)
So again, LC Pavillion in Columbus, OH, thanks for being so awesome (SARCASM). Because of you, I'm forced to show my face yet again to prove how quickly my day turned around, once I saw my dudes. They breathed the life back into me, that YOU stole. Unless you invite New Medicine back to play your venue, LCP, WE WILL NEVER RETURN.Yeeeaahhhthanksss.
In the stupid line outside while New Medicine played.
Is it me or does he keep getting cuter?
I'm pretty sure Dan's falling in love here (she likes to think).
Cuter still. And totally didn't know the camera was on me.
Happily New Meds ever after. The end <3
So friends, tell me, have you ever missed something (like a concert) you *had* to see, but couldn't?
Candyland. OUT.

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry! I'd have been SO frustrated if it were me.
I don't know if this exactly counts, but I was forced to miss band camp one year (which was a BIG deal to me then) so I could sit in a muggy hotel room by myself for three days while my brother/parents went to his college orientation.
*sigh*

Argh. That is SOOOO frustrating. But at least you got some huggin'! I imagine that makes up for a lot. :)

Um...yeah. I won't mention all the good crap I've missed because I had to stay home and take care of a screaming baby. (really, love my babies).

In high school, I had major coolage ACDC tickets. But unfortunately I got caught smoozin' on some 'beverages' the weekend before and got ground. Dang parents wouldn't cave. My tickets went to the concert without me. Boo-hoo

Oh man, what a shame.
But you did get some rockin' pics in the end. :)

I missed seeing the only person I wanted to see this year. Twice.

My boyfriend (John Mayer) has had two legs of his Battle Studies tour come to Ohio this year, and due to unforeseen obstacles that came up I was not able too see him. Much crying (not really) and moping around being generally bummed (that actually happened) I still came out on the other side. #seriouslyfreakingbummed Hopeful that I may one day get to meet my love. Sigh. <3

This sucks LOUDLY! I am so sorry to hear about your misadventures.

But at least you got hugs!

Oh no!!! I would be sooo upset! I'm glad you still got to say hi to those guys! Otherwise a certain venue would be receiving a very angry letter... from me.

ewe, pee on their heads! I can't recall and event that I ended up mising like that, but I can imagine you must have been ready to knock some heads together. Those pics are awesome!

Yes, I can totally understand your frustration - that would so suck. Glad to see you got some great pics afterwards though :)

Oh no! That is ridiculous!!! I'm sorry you missed them play, but good that you got to chat with them. Great pics!
Did you see any of the other bands?

i'm so sorry you missed out!
umm, not me, but my hubby missed out on something i daresay a bit bigger. he was out-of-state when i went into labor with our second son. the doctor could have waited long enough for him to get there for the c-section, but the doc wanted to get to his golf tournament (no kidding). doc rushed and botched the surg (almost lost my third son because of the damage he did by rushing). and my hubs arrived out of breath two hours later. that was an epic miss. we're BOTH still angry about it.

Yikes sounds like that wouldn't be a place I'd go back too. I don't go very often to concerts or anything, bout the closest I can come to that experience is my class schedules being messed up at the college, and it still doesn't compare.

I think the pics are awesome. Keep them coming. Now if you will excuse me I need to go off and post for yesterday. How did I miss that one so I can win that CD.

I really really really need to check this band out and see what all the hoopla is about.!

Nope. When I was into concerts and clubs and all that I was usually "with the DJ" or the promoter. At least I was back when I was young and cool.

LCP sucks!

New Medicine.

I hate it when an event is run by people who can't plan ahead! If they had a teacher organizing admittance, everything would have run smoothly!

I'm glad you were able to salvage some fun out of the situation, though.

Awesome pics! And yes, I've missed things I really wanted to go to. I lived, but there's just that pin of longing in my heart. Sometimes it still stabs.

Great pics Candy. Love the look on your face. The, "AIN'T HE A HOTTIE," look.

I've missed some stuff, yeah. But I guess it happens and there isn't anything we can do about it. Glad you got a dose of Medicine after all. hehe

I'll never forget the Tears for Fears concert I wanted to go to in 8th grade but couldn't because mom wouldn't let me.
It stings far less now, of course, but waaaah!

That totally bites, but at least it turned around eventually.

I've had entire nights where everything we tried to do was off. Ninety minute waits for dinner, sold out movies, and losing $ in a slot machine only to have someone come behind you and WIN. Yeah...nothing as big as New Medicine...but I've missed plenty

Awww that's so crappy. I'm sorry it didn't turn out the way you had hoped :( Guess they must be really popular, I'll have to check them out I've been looking for new music lately! Anways, I missed you and the awesomeness that is your blog!!!!

That totally sucks! I would have been beyond crazy with frustration. I'm glad that you eventually made it in!

Beyond sucky!!!! Glad you still made it in!! Love the awesome sexy pics!

What?!?! I have no idea what you're talking about!! Wasn't that the best concert EVER!!! I agree with you 100% I will never go back to LC unless they bring New Meds back. Felt like it was a waste of time, if I wanted to listen to them I would have stayed at home with my cd!! That had to have been the most disorganized thing I have ever been through. Good luck getting through to them!
